Assembly and set up
Begin your exploration journey by carefully removing the microscope from its packaging, ensuring it's placed on a stable, flat surface, ready for assembly. Prepare the microscope for use by gently removing the protective plastic covers from the eyepiece holders on the head. Securely place the eyepieces into their designated holders for optimal viewing. Enhance your microscopy experience by inserting the eyepiece adapter into the trinocular camera port atop the microscope. Choose to add a third eyepiece or mount an eyepiece camera (camera not included) for expanded functionality. Connect the power adapter to your microscope, and plug it in. Activate your microscope by pressing the conveniently located power button at the base's rear.
Using the microscope
Power on the microscope and adjust the illumination to the lowest brightness using the intensity control wheel, preparing for a personalized viewing experience.
Gently secure a slide into the slide holder on the stage, ready to begin your detailed exploration. Utilize the X-Y translational control knobs on the stage's right side to navigate-moving the stage front to back or sliding the holder left to right, perfectly centering your specimen over the light source.
Achieve a single, cohesive image by adjusting the binocular eyepieces to the perfect distance for your vision. Tailor the light intensity to your comfort by adjusting the dimmer wheel, ensuring a clear and vivid view of your specimen.
Begin your examination journey with the lowest power objective lens, the 4X, precisely centered over the stage for foundational focus. Peer through the eyepieces and initiate the focusing process by gradually turning the coarse adjustment knob, bringing the stage nearer to the objective for a sharp image. Once the initial image is acquired, refine your focus with the blue fine adjustment knob for intricate clarity, revealing the specimen's various layers in stunning detail. Further perfect the image clarity by using the diopter adjustment control on the eyepiece holder, ensuring the most precise focus. Explore the slide's entirety by utilizing the X-Y translational control knobs, freely moving the slide holder with the specimen in sharp focus.
Elevate your exploration by rotating the nosepiece clockwise to a higher magnification objective. Exercise caution to prevent accidental contact with the slide to protect both the delicate glass and objective. Should space be an issue when switching objectives, gently use the coarse focus knob to lower the stage, creating ample room for safe adjustment.
Enhance image resolution by adjusting the focusing ring on the iris aperture diaphragm, bringing every detail into crystal clear view. Manually adjust the condenser's proximity to the stage by rotating the metal knob, tailoring the focus to your specific needs.
For optimal results with the 100X objective, employ the provided immersion oil, ensuring impeccable clarity and precision in high-magnification observations. Gently rotate the nosepiece until the esteemed 100X objective is poised near your specimen slide. Ensure it's close enough to work its magic, but refrain from direct contact just yet. Next, delicately apply a single drop of the luxurious immersion oil provided onto the cover slip, setting the stage for an incredible observation experience. Slowly and with precision, rotate the 100X objective into place, allowing it to gracefully connect with the immersion oil, preparing for an unparalleled view of your specimen. With a steady hand, adjust the focus until the specimen is perfectly in view, bringing the microscopic world to life with stunning clarity and detail. (Important Note: Immediately after your exploration, tenderly remove the immersion oil from both the objective lens and cover slip using lens paper lightly moistened with ethyl or isopropyl alcohol. Remember, the 4X, 10X, and 40X objectives are not compatible with immersion oil.)
Discover the ingenious swing-in and swing-out filter holder conveniently located at the base of the Abbe condenser, designed for seamless operation. With care, swing out the holder and place a pristine 32mm diameter filter within it, ensuring no dust, dirt, or fingerprints mar the filter or the field lens.
Effortlessly Mounting a Camera Attachment for Enhanced Viewing
Securely place the eyepiece adapter into the trinocular camera port atop the microscope, mounting an eyepiece camera (not included) directly for an enhanced viewing experience. For those opting for a C-mount camera (not included), simply unscrew the top ring from the eyepiece adapter, converting it to a 1X C-mount.
Rest assured, the parfocality between the eyepieces and the trinocular port is expertly preset before shipping. If a rare adjustment is needed, simply rotate the parfocal ring on the eyepiece adapter to fine-tune the adapter height position and maintain perfect parfocality.
