Assembly and Set Up
Gently unpack the microscope and position it on a stable, flat surface to ensure a secure setup environment. Remove plastic covers from the eyepiece holders on the microscope's head, then carefully insert the eyepieces into the allocated holders. Optionally insert the eyepiece adapter into the trinocular camera port atop the microscope, allowing for the addition of a third eyepiece or the mounting of an eyepiece camera (camera not included). Identify the power adapter, connect it to the microscope, then plug it in. Activate the microscope by pressing the power button located on the back of the base.

Using the Microscope
Turn on the microscope and adjust the illumination intensity control wheel, setting the lamp to its lowest brightness setting to begin.

Carefully place a slide into the slide holder on the stage, ensuring it is securely clipped in for viewing. Use the X-Y translational control knobs on the stage's right side to move the stage front to back or the slide holder left to right, centering the specimen over the bulb for optimal focus.

Adjust the binocular eyepieces' distance until a single, clear image is visible when looking through them, tailored to your personal viewing preference. Fine-tune your view by adjusting the bulb brightness to a comfortable level using the dimmer wheel, enhancing visibility for prolonged study.

Begin your examination with the lowest power objective lens, the 4X objective, perfectly centered over the stage for initial focus. Peer through the eyepieces and gently turn the larger coarse adjustment focus knob, gradually bringing the stage closer to the objective for a clear, focused image. After achieving an initial image, switch to the blue fine adjustment focus knob, skillfully refining clarity and exploring various specimen layers. Utilize the diopter adjustment control on the eyepiece holder to fine-tune image clarity, ensuring a sharp focus tailored to your vision. Examine different slide areas using the X-Y translational control knobs to reposition the slide holder, maintaining focus on new specimen sections.

Enhance magnification by rotating the nosepiece clockwise to a higher magnification objective. Take caution not to strike the slide, preventing damage to the slide or the objective lens. If the objective cannot be moved into place without contacting the slide, use the coarse focus knob to create space by lowering the stage before adjusting magnification.

Adjust the focusing ring on the iris aperture diaphragm to meticulously alter the image resolution, tailoring the focus for detailed observation. Manually adjust the condenser's position relative to the stage by rotating the metal knob, customizing the light focus for optimal specimen clarity.

For unparalleled results with the 100X objective, utilize the provided immersion oil to enhance clarity and detail in your high-magnification observations. Gently rotate the nosepiece until the 100X objective is poised near the specimen slide, ready for immersive exploration, but avoid direct contact just yet. Next, carefully place a single drop of the provided immersion oil onto the cover slip, setting the stage for enhanced clarity and precision in your observations. Gracefully pivot the 100X objective into position to make a seamless connection with the immersion oil, ensuring optimal contact for superior imagery. Fine-tune the focus with precision until your specimen emerges with breathtaking clarity, bringing your research to life with stunning detail. (Pro Tip: After your research session, gently cleanse the objective lens and cover slip with lens paper moistened with a touch of ethyl or isopropyl alcohol. Remember, the 4X, 10X, or 40X objectives do not require immersion oil.)

Discover the versatility of the swing-in and swing-out filter holder located at the base of the Abbe condenser, designed for seamless integration and enhanced functionality. With delicate care, swing the filter holder outward and place a 32mm diameter filter inside, ensuring cleanliness and clarity by avoiding dust, dirt, and fingerprints on its surface.

Mounting a camera attachment

Effortlessly place the eyepiece adapter into the trinocular camera port on top of the microscope. Securely mount an eyepiece camera (not included) directly, or utilize a 1X C-mount by unscrewing the top ring for seamless integration with a C-mount camera (not included).

Enjoy the convenience of pre-set parfocality between eyepieces and the trinocular port, eliminating the need for adjustments. If adjustments are required, simply rotate the parfocal ring in the eyepiece adapter to fine-tune the adapter height position for impeccable parfocality.
