Assembly and set up
To set up your microscope, gently lift it from the box and place it on a stable, flat surface to ensure optimal performance and safety. Carefully remove the protective plastic covers from the eyepiece holders on the microscope's head, then gently insert the eyepieces into their respective holders with precision. Optionally, at this stage, you can enhance your setup by inserting the eyepiece adapter into the trinocular camera port atop the microscope for an additional eyepiece or an eyepiece camera (not included). Locate the power adapter, connect it to the microscope, and plug it in. Activate the microscope by pressing the power button on the back of the base to bring it to life.

Using the microscope
Initiate your microscopy session by turning on the microscope and setting the illumination intensity control wheel to the lowest brightness setting, providing a gentle start.

Securely clip a slide into the designated slide holder on the stage for a stable and focused observation experience. Utilize the X-Y translational control knobs on the right side of the stage to skillfully move the stage front to back and the slide holder left to right, centering the specimen over the illuminating bulb.

Adjust the binocular eyepieces, moving them closer or further apart until they converge to a single, cohesive image, ensuring a clear and unified view. Fine-tune the bulb brightness to match your comfort level using the dimmer wheel, achieving optimal illumination for your analysis.

Begin your exploration with the 4X objective lens, the lowest power, centered over the stage, setting the foundation for a gradual magnification journey. Gaze through the eyepieces and gradually bring the image into focus by meticulously turning the larger coarse adjustment focus knob, bringing the stage closer to the objective. Once the initial image emerges, transition to the blue fine adjustment focus knob for precise clarity or to explore various specimen layers with finesse. Utilize the diopter adjustment control on the eyepiece holder to further refine image clarity, achieving the sharpest possible view. After achieving focus, explore different areas of the slide using the X-Y translational control knobs to navigate the slide holder.

Elevate magnification by smoothly rotating the nosepiece clockwise to a higher magnification objective, ensuring careful navigation to prevent contact with the slide. Should an objective change require additional space, use the coarse focus knob to gently lower the stage, providing clearance before proceeding with magnification adjustments.

Modify the image resolution by adjusting the focusing ring on the iris aperture diaphragm, achieving desired clarity. Adjust the condenser's proximity to the stage by rotating the metal knob, customizing light focus and intensity.

For optimal performance with the 100X objective, ensure the inclusion of the provided immersion oil for enhanced imaging results. Carefully rotate the nosepiece, positioning the 100X objective lens close to the specimen slide without making contact. Proceed by placing a drop of the provided immersion oil onto the cover slip for enhanced optical clarity. Gently rotate the 100X objective lens into position, ensuring it makes contact with the immersion oil for superior viewing precision. Adjust the focus meticulously until the specimen is presented in sharp, clear detail. (Note: Post-examination, delicately clean the oil off the objective lens and cover slip using lens paper dampened with a small quantity of ethyl or isopropyl alcohol. Remember, the 4X, 10X, and 40X objectives should not be used with immersion oil.)

The Abbe condenser is equipped with a practical swing-in and swing-out filter holder at its base. Swing out the filter holder and insert a 32mm diameter filter, ensuring no dust, dirt, or fingerprints mar the filter or field lens.

Installation of a camera attachment

Insert the eyepiece adapter into the trinocular camera port atop the microscope. Attach an eyepiece camera (not included) directly. For a C-mount camera (not included), remove the top ring from the eyepiece adapter, enabling 1X C-mount usage.

The parfocality between eyepieces and the trinocular port is factory set. However, if adjustments are needed, the parfocal ring in the eyepiece adapter can be rotated to alter the adapter's height and parfocality.
