Assembly and set up
Delicately remove the microscope body from the box and position it on a sturdy, flat surface. Carefully detach the microscope head from its packaging and securely affix it to the body using the head locking screw, being careful not to overtighten.
Gently remove the protective plastic covers from the eyepiece holders on the head of the microscope, then insert the eyepieces into their respective holders. At this stage, you may also choose to insert the eyepiece adapter into the trinocular camera port on the top of the microscope and place either a third eyepiece into it, or mount an eyepiece camera (not included). Retrieve the power adapter and connect it to the microscope, then activate it by pressing the power button located at the back of the base.
Utilizing the microscope
Rotate the microscope Activate and utilize the illumination intensity control wheel to set the lamp to its lowest brightness setting, ensuring optimal starter conditions.
Secure the slide into the meticulously designed slide holder on the stage. Manipulate the ergonomic X-Y translational control knobs on the right side of the stage to seamlessly move the stage front to back or the slide holder left to right, perfectly centering your specimen over the light source.
Adjust the binocular eyepieces to align until you witness a singular, cohesive image when you peer through them. Modify the bulb brightness to a comfortable intensity with the intuitive dimmer wheel. Remarkably, another user can concurrently view the image through using an eyepiece equipped with the exclusive trinocular port.
Commence exploration with the lowest power objective lens, in this instance, the 4X objective, centrally positioned over the stage. Through the eyepieces, gradually bring the image into focus by gently turning the larger coarse adjustment focus knob, drawing the stage closer to the objective. Once clarity emerges, transition to the precision blue fine adjustment focus knob to meticulously fine-tune for enhanced clarity or to observe the intricate layers of the specimen. You have the option to also leverage the diopter adjustment control on the eyepiece holder at this time to further
fine-tune image clarity. Explore additional areas of the slide by utilizing the X-Y translational control knobs to strategically move the slide holder once the specimen is in optimal focus.
Elevate magnification by elegantly rotating the nosepiece clockwise to engage a higher magnification objective, ensuring not to collide with the slide as this could compromise the integrity of your sample. the glass on the slide, the objective, or both. If you cannot move the objective into place without making contact with the slide, utilize the coarse focus knob to gently guide the stage down and away to make room before changing magnification.
Adjust the focusing ring on the iris aperture diaphragm to alter the resolution of the image. The condenser can be deftly adjusted closer to or farther from the stage by rotating the metal knob.
For optimal results with the 100X objective, apply the included immersion oil. Gently rotate the nosepiece so that the 100X objective is positioned near, but not directly on the specimen slide. Then place a drop of the provided immersion oil onto the cover slip. Gradually rotate the 100X objective into place so that it gently contacts the immersion oil. Adjust focus until your specimen becomes perfectly clear. (Note: Following each use, always gently wipe the oil off of the objective lens and cover slip using lens paper lightly moistened with a trace amount of ethyl or isopropyl alcohol. Avoid using immersion oil with the 4X, 10X, or 40X objectives.)
The swing-in and swing-out filter holder is elegantly located at the bottom of the Abbe condenser. Swing it outward and carefully insert a 32mm diameter filter, ensuring that dust, dirt, and fingerprints do not mar the filter and field lens.
