I. Assembling the microscope
The components for the S41-20 microscope arrive meticulously detached to ensure utmost protection. When opening the styrofoam packaging, handle everything with the utmost care, ensuring no components remain attached. Retain all packing materials until you have successfully identified and accounted for each component. Gently remove the protective plastic covers from the microscope's head and the pair of gooseneck LED lights.

Commence the assembly by securing the stand connector and its supporting pillar onto the vertical pillar, making sure to tighten the fastening knobs securely. Proceed to attach the working arm to the stand connector, affix the focus block connector to the microscope head, and then seamlessly integrate the working arm with the focus block connector using the focus block fixing knob.

Locate and attach the power cord to the microscope with precision, then plug it into an appropriate power source. Activate the power switch conveniently located on the back of the microscope stand to bring your device to life.

II. Using the microscope

Interpupillary adjustment
Effortlessly adjust the two eyepiece tubes until you achieve a single, seamless circular field of view through both eyepieces. If two separate circles are visible, it signifies an excessive interpupillary distance; if two overlapping circles appear, the distance is insufficient. The eyepiece tube offers flexible adjustments, accommodating interpupillary distances ranging from 54 to 76mm.

Focusing the microscope
Achieve perfect clarity by utilizing the focusing knobs strategically situated on each side of the head holder. These knobs facilitate vertical movement of the microscope, powered by an intricate "rack and pinion" mechanism. Adjust until your sample is brought into perfect focus.

With the focusing knob, refine the clarity of your sample until the image is strikingly clear. Should the sample remain out of focus within the S303/S304 pole arm and stand's travel range, adjust the microscope head height along the vertical pillar to establish an optimal working distance of 230mm from the sample. Ensure to tighten the locking screw and support collar firmly after height adjustments.
