Assembly and set up
Carefully remove the microscope body from the box and set it on a sturdy, flat surface. Remove the microscope head from the box and secure it to the body using the head locking screw, being careful not to overtighten. Remove the protective plastic covers from the eyepiece holders on the microscope's head, then
gently place eyepieces into the holders. You may choose at this time to insert the eyepiece adapter into the trinocular camera port on the top of the microscope and place either a third eyepiece into it or mount an eyepiece camera (sold separately). Find the power adapter and securely attach it to the microscope, then plug it in. Activate the microscope by gently pressing the power button located on the back of the base. Using
the microscope Turn
the microscope on and use Carefully adjust the illumination intensity using the control wheel to set the lamp on the lowest brightness setting.
Gently clip the slide into the slide holder on the stage. Utilize the X-Y translational control knobs located on the right side of the stage to maneuver the stage front to back or the slide holder left to right to perfectly center the specimen over the bulb's light.
Adjust the binocular eyepieces closer together or further apart until you perceive a single, unified image when you look through them. Customize the bulb brightness to a comfortable intensity with the dimmer wheel. Remember that another user can simultaneously observe the image through using an eyepiece via the trinocular port.
Start always with the lowest power objective lens, specifically the 4X objective, positioned centered over the stage. Gaze through the eyepieces and gradually bring the image into sharp focus by turning the larger coarse adjustment focus knob, which brings the stage closer to the objective. After an image is formed, transition to the blue fine adjustment focus knob to meticulously fine-tune the clarity or to explore the various layers of the specimen. Additionally, you may also utilize the diopter adjustment control on the eyepiece holder at this time to further
enhance fine-tune image clarity. Explore other regions of the slide by utilizing the X-Y translational control knobs to move the slide holder once the specimen is in focus.
Elevate magnification by smoothly rotating the nosepiece clockwise to a higher magnification objective, ensuring not to contact the slide with the objective to avoid any potential damage to the glass. on the slide, the objective, or both. If you cannot move the objective into place without making contact with the slide, use the coarse focus knob to move the stage down and away to make room before changing magnification.
Adjust the focusing ring on the iris aperture diaphragm to change the resolution of the image. The condenser can be manually moved closer to or farther from the stage by rotating the metal knob.
For best results with the 100X objective, use the included immersion oil. Rotate the nosepiece so that the 100X objective is near, but not on the specimen slide. Then place a drop of the included immersion oil onto the cover slip. Slowly rotate the 100X objective into place so that it comes into contact with the immersion oil. Adjust focus until your specimen comes clearly into view. (Note: Immediately after use, always gently wipe the oil off of the objective lens and the cover slip with lens paper moistened with a small amount of ethyl or isopropyl alcohol. Do not use immersion oil with the 4X, 10X, or 40X objectives.)
The swing-in and swing-out filter holder is at the bottom of Abbe condenser. Swing it out and place a 32mm diameter filter into it, taking care that dust, dirt and fingerprints do not get on the filter and the field lens.
Mounting a camera attachment
To start using your Laboratory Microscope with 40X-2500X Magnification, gently place the eyepiece adapter into the trinocular camera port at the top of the microscope. This adapter serves as a bridge for your imaging accessories. Easily attach an eyepiece camera (not included) directly onto the adapter to capture spectacular views. Should you wish to use a C- mount camera (also not included), simply unscrew the top ring from the eyepiece adapter. This simple modification allows you to transform the adapter into a 1X C-mount perfect for your cameras.
Rest assured, the parfocality between the eyepieces and the trinocular port has been meticulously preset prior to shipment. Adjustments are generally not needed. However, should the need arise, effortlessly rotate the parfocal ring in the eyepiece adapter to fine-tune the adapter height position, ensuring precision and maintaining excellent parfocality.
