Assembly and set up
Begin your exploration by gently removing the microscope from its packaging and placing it on a stable, flat surface, ready for assembly. Enhance your viewing experience by removing the protective covers from the eyepiece holders on the microscope's head, then securely placing the eyepieces into their respective holders. For an expanded perspective, consider inserting the eyepiece adapter into the trinocular camera port atop the microscope, allowing for the addition of a third eyepiece or optional eyepiece camera (sold separately). Connect the power adapter to the microscope, ensuring a seamless power supply. Energize your device by pressing the power button located on the back of the base.
Using the microscope
Activate the microscope and adjust the illumination intensity with the control wheel, starting with the lowest brightness setting for optimal visualization.
Securely position a slide in the slide holder on the stage to begin your examination. Employ the X-Y translational control knobs on the right side of the stage to precisely navigate the stage front-to-back and the slide holder left-to-right, centering your specimen over the illuminating bulb.
Achieve a singular, unified image by adjusting the binocular eyepieces closer or farther apart according to your vision needs. Fine-tune visual comfort by adjusting the bulb brightness to a level that suits you, using the dimmer wheel for precision.
Begin your observation with the 4X objective lens, strategically positioned over the stage, offering foundational magnification for initial exploration. Peer through the eyepieces and gradually bring the specimen into focus by turning the larger coarse adjustment focus knob, moving the stage towards the objective. Once the image is formed, refine the clarity using the blue fine adjustment focus knob, allowing you to examine the intricate layers of your specimen with precision. Enhance image clarity further with the diopter adjustment control on the eyepiece holder, delivering remarkable detail and sharpness. Explore additional areas of the slide by skillfully maneuvering the slide holder with the X-Y translational control knobs, ensuring comprehensive examination of the specimen in focus.
Elevate magnification by rotating the nosepiece clockwise to select a higher magnification objective. Exercise caution to prevent contact between the slide and objective, safeguarding both elements from potential damage. Create ample space by using the coarse focus knob to lower the stage before transitioning to a higher magnification setting, ensuring a smooth and safe adjustment.
Modify the resolution of your image by adjusting the focusing ring on the iris aperture diaphragm, achieving desired clarity and detail. Optimize light focus by manually adjusting the condenser, bringing it closer or farther from the stage with ease, thanks to the intuitive metal knob.
Achieve optimal results with the 100X objective by utilizing the included immersion oil, enhancing clarity and resolution for meticulous analysis. Carefully rotate the nosepiece until the 100X objective is positioned close to, but not yet touching, the specimen slide. This ensures precision and minimizes any risk of damage. Next, apply a drop of the specially included immersion oil onto the cover slip, ensuring optimal clarity and image quality for your observation. Gently rotate the 100X objective into place, allowing it to make contact with the immersion oil. This step is crucial for achieving the best possible resolution and detail. Adjust the focus with precision, bringing your specimen into sharp, crystal-clear view, and unlocking a new level of detail for your research. (Note: After use, gently and immediately clean the oil from the objective lens and cover slip using lens paper moistened with a small amount of ethyl or isopropyl alcohol to maintain lens quality. Remember, immersion oil should not be used with 4X, 10X, or 40X objectives.)
The innovative swing-in and swing-out filter holder is conveniently located at the bottom of the Abbe condenser, designed for ease of use. Swing the filter holder out and carefully place a clean, 32mm diameter filter into it, ensuring that no dust, dirt, or fingerprints contaminate the filter or field lens, thereby maintaining image integrity.
Mounting a camera attachment: Enhance your microscopy experience by adding a camera to capture and share your findings with ease.
Insert the eyepiece adapter into the trinocular camera port located atop the microscope and secure an eyepiece camera (not included) onto it seamlessly. For a C-mount camera (not included), simply remove the top ring from the eyepiece adapter and use it as a 1X C-mount for effortless camera integration.
The parfocality between the eyepieces and the trinocular port is expertly preset prior to shipment to ensure seamless performance. However, if adjustment is needed, the parfocal ring in the eyepiece adapter can be rotated to fine-tune the adapter height and achieve optimal parfocality.
