I. Assembling the microscope
The components for the S41-20 microscope are expertly shipped in a detached state to ensure maximum protection. When unboxing, handle the styrofoam packing with utmost care and make sure no components remain attached. Retain all packing materials until each component is accounted for. Carefully remove the protective plastic covers from the microscope's head and the two gooseneck LED lights.

Begin the assembly by attaching the stand connector and its supporting pillar onto the vertical pillar, securing them by tightening the fastening knobs. Proceed by affixing the working arm to the stand connector, then connect the focus block connector to the microscope head. Finally, unite the working arm and focus block connector using the focus block fixing knob.

Find the power cord, securely attach it to the microscope, and plug it in. Activate the power switch located at the back of the microscope stand to bring your device to life.

II. Using the microscope

Interpupillary adjustment
Adjust the two eyepiece tubes to achieve a single, unified circular field of vision through both eyepieces. If you see two separate circles, the interpupillary distance is too wide; if they overlap, it's too narrow. The eyepiece tubes are designed for flexible adjustment, accommodating interpupillary distances between 54 and 76mm.

Focusing the microscope
To achieve sharp focus on your sample, utilize the focusing knobs located on both sides of the head holder. These knobs allow you to move the microscope up or down, thanks to the precision 'rack and pinion' mechanism. Experience smooth, accurate focusing with every turn.

Use the focusing knob to bring your sample into clear view. If the sample is out of focus within the travel range of the S303/S304 pole arm and stand, adjust the microscope head's height along the vertical pillar to a working distance of 230mm from the sample. Ensure to tighten both the locking screw and support collar post-adjustment for stability.
