I. Assembling the microscope
Each component of the S41-20 microscope is meticulously shipped detached to guarantee supreme protection. Begin by gently opening the styrofoam packaging, ensuring no components are left behind. Retain all packaging materials until every component has been identified. With care, remove the protective plastic covers from the microscope's head and the two innovative gooseneck LED lights, setting the stage for a flawless assembly experience.

Commence the assembly by elegantly securing the stand connector and its supportive pillar to the vertical pillar, ensuring the fastening knobs are tightened with precision. Next, gracefully attach the working arm to the stand connector, followed by affixing the focus block connector to the microscope head. Conclude the assembly with a seamless connection between the working arm and focus block connector, utilizing the focus block fixing knob for an immaculate setup.

With careful attention, locate the power cord, securely attaching it to the microscope and plugging it in. Activate the power switch located at the back of the microscope stand to breathe life into your sophisticated equipment, marking the beginning of your scientific exploration.

II. Using the microscope

Interpupillary adjustment
Delicately adjust the eyepiece tubes until a singular, harmonious circular field is visible through both eyepieces. Separate circles reveal an interpupillary distance that is too large, while overlapping circles indicate one that is too small. The design of the eyepiece tubes allows for smooth and flexible adjustment of the interpupillary distance, ranging between 54 to 76mm, for a perfect fit tailored to your needs.

Focusing the microscope
For an impeccable focus on your sample, engage the focusing knobs located on both sides of the head holder. By rotating these knobs, the microscope moves up or down through a cutting-edge 'rack and pinion' mechanism, providing you with precision control and an enhanced viewing experience.

Utilize the focusing knob to refine your view to crystal-clear perfection. If the sample remains out of focus within the travel range of the S303/S304 pole arm and stand, adjust the microscope head height along the vertical pillar to achieve an ideal working distance of 230mm from the sample. Ensure to tighten the locking screw and support collar after adjustments, cementing a stable and exacting focus.
