Assembly and set up
Commence your exploration journey by gently removing the microscope from its packaging and placing it securely on a stable, flat surface, paving the way for a smooth setup process. Unlock new perspectives by taking off the protective plastic covers from the eyepiece holders on the microscope's head. Securely place eyepieces into these holders, establishing the foundation for your observational ventures. Broaden your visual capabilities! Choose to insert the eyepiece adapter into the trinocular camera port atop the microscope, enabling the addition of a third eyepiece or the installation of an optional eyepiece camera. Power your explorations by finding the power adapter, attaching it firmly to the microscope, and plugging it in. Initiate the microscope with a simple press of the power button, conveniently located at the back of the base.
Using the microscope
Illuminate your specimens by activating the microscope and setting the lamp to its lowest brightness with the illumination intensity control wheel, preparing for precision viewing.
Securely place your specimen by clipping a slide into the holder on the stage, setting the stage for an intricate examination session. Explore with meticulous precision using the X-Y translational control knobs on the stage's right side. Adjust the stage's front-to-back motion or the slide holder's left-to-right movement to perfectly position your specimen over the bulb.
Achieve a unified and seamless view by adjusting the binocular eyepieces closer together or further apart until a single, focused image comes into clarity. With the intuitive dimmer wheel, set the bulb brightness to a comfortable level for extended exploration sessions, ensuring lasting viewing comfort.
Initiate your exploratory adventure by starting with the lowest power objective lens, the 4X objective, centered over the stage for optimal initial examination. Bring your specimen into vivid focus by peering through the eyepieces and gradually turning the larger coarse adjustment focus knob, advancing the stage closer to the objective to refine your view. Once your specimen emerges into view, transition to the blue fine adjustment focus knob. Use it to deftly fine-tune the image for clarity or to explore the intricate layers of your specimen. Attain ultimate clarity by employing the diopter adjustment control on the eyepiece holder to fine-tune the image to absolute sharpness. Discover captivating new angles of your specimen by maneuvering the X-Y translational control knobs to traverse the slide holder once the specimen is in focus.
For an enhanced magnification experience, smoothly rotate the nosepiece clockwise to select a higher objective level. Exercise caution while transitioning between objectives to prevent any contact with the slide. This careful handling ensures the preservation of both the slide's integrity and the objective lens. Should you face any challenges in altering magnification, gently utilize the coarse focus knob to lower the stage. This action creates ample space to switch objectives effortlessly, thereby avoiding any unnecessary contact.
Achieve superior image resolution by carefully adjusting the focusing ring on the iris aperture diaphragm. This adjustment enables a sharper and more vividly defined visual output. Master precise lighting control by manually adjusting the condenser's position relative to the stage using the rotating metal knob. This allows you to tailor the illumination perfectly to your specific observational needs.
Unlock the finest details with the 100X objective by utilizing the included immersion oil. This enhances resolution, bringing your discoveries into stunning sharp relief. Carefully rotate the nosepiece to position the potent 100X objective lens close to your specimen slide, ensuring that it does not yet make contact. Gently apply a drop of our premium immersion oil onto the cover slip, setting the stage for an experience of exceptional viewing clarity. With precision, rotate the 100X objective into its rightful position until it delicately contacts the immersion oil, preparing for an unparalleled observational experience. Seamlessly adjust the focus until your specimen comes vividly into view, revealing its most intricate details with clarity. (Note: After using the microscope, it's crucial to gently cleanse the oil from the objective lens and cover slip with lens paper slightly moistened with ethyl or isopropyl alcohol. Remember, immersion oil should not be used with the 4X, 10X, or 40X objectives.)
Discover the sophisticated swing-in and swing-out filter holder, conveniently located at the base of the Abbe condenser for your ease of use. Simply swing the holder out and effortlessly place a pristine 32mm diameter filter into position. This ensures protection from any dust, dirt, or fingerprints that could mar the filter or the field lens.
Effortless Camera Attachment Procedure
To mount a camera, insert the eyepiece adapter into the trinocular camera port on your microscope. Attach your chosen eyepiece camera (not included). For C-mount cameras (not included), remove the top ring from the eyepiece adapter and use it as a 1X C-mount.
The eyepieces and the trinocular port are meticulously pre-calibrated for perfect parfocality. Should adjustments be necessary, simply rotate the parfocal ring within the eyepiece adapter to fine-tune the adapter height, ensuring seamless parfocality.
