I. Assembling the microscope
The components for the S41-20 microscope are shipped detached, ensuring impeccable protection during transit. Gently open the styrofoam packaging, checking thoroughly to ensure no components are left behind. Keep all packing materials until each component is positively identified. Carefully peel off the protective plastic covers from the microscope's head and the two gooseneck LED lights, ensuring they are pristine and ready for assembly.

Start by assembling the stand connector and its supportive pillar onto the vertical pillar, securely tightening the fastening knobs. Next, gracefully attach the working arm to the stand connector, followed by affixing the focus block connector to the microscope head. Conclude with a seamless connection of the working arm and focus block connector, securing them with the focus block fixing knob for optimal stability.

Carefully locate the power cord, attach it to the microscope, and connect to a power source. Activate the power switch found at the back of the microscope stand to illuminate your research journey, bringing your equipment to life with a simple touch.

II. Using the microscope

Interpupillary adjustment
Gently adjust the two eyepiece tubes until you observe a single, unified circular field through both eyepieces. If you see separate circles, the interpupillary distance is too wide; overlapping circles suggest the distance is too narrow. The eyepiece tubes offer convenient flexibility, allowing interpupillary distance adjustments from 54 to 76mm, ensuring a perfect fit for your vision.

Focusing the microscope
To achieve a sharp focus on your specimen, utilize the focusing knobs located on both sides of the head holder. By rotating these knobs, you engage a sophisticated 'rack and pinion' mechanism that moves the microscope up or down to pinpoint clarity.

Leverage the focusing knob to attain a crystal-clear image. If the sample remains out of focus within the travel range of the S303/S304 pole arm and stand, adjust the microscope head height along the vertical pillar to a precise working distance of 230mm from the sample. Ensure to tighten the locking screw and support collar after making the necessary height adjustments to maintain stability.
