I. Assembling the microscope
The components for the S41-20 microscope arrive with unparalleled care in separate pieces to guarantee maximum protection. Gently open the styrofoam packaging, making sure no parts cling to it. Keep all packaging materials until every component is verified. With delicate precision, remove the protective plastic covers encasing the microscope's head and the duo of gooseneck LED lights.

Commence the assembly by attaching the stand connector alongside its supportive pillar onto the vertical pillar, ensuring the fastening knobs are securely tightened. Gracefully attach the working arm to the stand connector, then fasten the focus block connector to the microscope head. Lastly, effortlessly join the working arm and the focus block connector using the focus block fixing knob.

Carefully identify the power cord, connect it to the microscope, and plug it into a power source. Engage the power switch located at the rear of the microscope stand to bring your sophisticated equipment to life.

II. Using the microscope

Interpupillary adjustment
Gently calibrate the two eyepiece tubes until you perceive one unified circular field through both eyepieces. If separate circles appear, the interpupillary distance is too wide, and if circles overlap, the distance is too narrow. The eyepiece tube offers the flexibility to adjust the interpupillary distance seamlessly between 54 and 76mm.

Focusing the microscope
To achieve a razor-sharp focus on your sample, manipulate the focusing knobs situated on both sides of the head holder. By rotating these knobs, the microscope adjusts vertically via an advanced 'rack and pinion' mechanism.

Harness the focusing knob to obtain a perfectly clear image. If the sample remains out of focus within the travel range of the S303/S304 pole arm and stand, adjust the microscope head height along the vertical pillar to an exact working distance of 230mm from the sample. Ensure to secure the locking screw and support collar after making the necessary height modifications.
