Assembly and Set-Up Guide
Gently remove your microscope from its packaging and position it securely on a stable, flat surface to begin assembly. Carefully take off the plastic covers from the eyepiece holders on the microscope's head and place the eyepieces into their respective holders. At this juncture, you may opt to insert the eyepiece adapter into the trinocular camera port positioned atop the microscope. Insert an additional eyepiece or alternatively, mount an eyepiece camera (not included) for enhanced functionality. Locate the power adapter, attach it to the microscope, and plug it into a power source. Activate the microscope by pressing the power button located at the back of the base.
Mastering the Use of Your Microscope
Switch on the microscope and utilize the illumination intensity control wheel to adjust the lamp to its lowest brightness setting for initial observations.
Carefully clip a slide into the designated slide holder on the stage to begin your analysis. Utilize the X-Y translational control knobs situated on the right side of the stage to maneuver the stage from front to back or to adjust the slide holder left to right, ensuring the specimen is precisely centered over the bulb.
Adjust the binocular eyepieces by moving them closer together or further apart until a single, cohesive image comes into view when you look through them. Fine-tune the bulb's brightness to a comfortable and optimal intensity using the dimmer wheel for a clear and detailed view.
Begin with the lowest power objective lens, specifically the 4X objective, ensuring it is centered over the stage for initial focus. Peer through the eyepieces, and gently bring the image into focus by rotating the larger, coarse adjustment focus knob, drawing the stage nearer to the objective for clarity. Once the image is visible, transition to using the blue fine adjustment focus knob to refine clarity or to explore the various layers of the specimen under examination. For further enhancement of image clarity, employ the diopter adjustment control on the eyepiece holder as required. To inspect different areas of the slide, use the X-Y translational control knobs to adjust the slide holder once the specimen is in focus.
Enhance magnification by rotating the nosepiece clockwise to select a higher magnification objective. Exercise caution to avoid striking the slide with the objective, as contact may damage the glass slide or objective. Should the objective not fit without making contact with the slide, utilize the coarse focus knob to lower the stage, creating ample space before altering magnification levels.
Modify the resolution of the image by adjusting the focusing ring on the iris aperture diaphragm for refined results. The condenser's position can be adjusted manually, allowing it to be moved closer to or farther from the stage by rotating the metal knob for optimal light focus.
For superior imaging outcomes when utilizing the 100X objective, apply the included immersion oil to enhance resolution and clarity. Carefully rotate the nosepiece so the 100X objective lens is aligned closely with, yet not directly on, the specimen slide, ensuring precision before contact. Next, delicately apply a drop of the premium immersion oil provided onto the cover slip to enhance clarity. Gently rotate the 100X objective into place until it makes contact with the immersion oil, optimizing your viewing experience to reveal intricate specimen details. Adjust the focus meticulously until your specimen is displayed in stunning clarity and precision. (Note: After use, promptly and gently remove the oil from the objective lens and cover slip using lens paper moistened with a delicate amount of ethyl or isopropyl alcohol. Immersion oil should not be used with 4X, 10X, or 40X objectives.)
The innovative swing-in and swing-out filter holder is conveniently located at the bottom of the Abbe condenser, designed for effortless use. Simply swing it out and insert a 32mm diameter filter, ensuring the filter and field lens remain pristine and free of dust, dirt, or fingerprints.
Seamlessly Mounting a Camera Attachment
Insert the eyepiece adapter into the trinocular camera port atop the microscope, then securely mount an eyepiece camera (not included). For C-mount camera users (not included), unscrew the top ring of the eyepiece adapter to utilize it as a 1X C-mount for your camera.
The parfocality between the eyepieces and trinocular port has been expertly preset for your convenience. However, if adjustments are needed, rotate the parfocal ring in the eyepiece adapter to fine-tune the adapter height and achieve perfect parfocality.
