Assembly and set up
Start your journey by carefully unboxing the microscope and placing it on a stable, flat surface, readying it for a smooth setup. Unlock new perspectives by removing the plastic covers from the eyepiece holders atop the microscope's head. Securely place eyepieces into these holders, establishing the foundation for your observational pursuits. Expand your vision! Choose to insert the eyepiece adapter into the trinocular camera port located on top, facilitating the addition of a third eyepiece or the integration of an optional eyepiece camera. Power up your discoveries by locating the power adapter, securely attaching it to the microscope, and plugging it in. Activate with a simple press of the power button on the base's back.
Using the microscope
Illuminate your specimens by powering on the microscope and setting the lamp to its lowest brightness using the illumination intensity control wheel, preparing for precise viewing.
Secure your specimen by clipping a slide into the holder on the stage, setting the stage for meticulous examination. Explore with precision using the X-Y translational control knobs on the stage's right side. Adjust the stage's front-to-back movement or the slide holder's left-to-right motion to perfectly center your specimen over the bulb.
Achieve a unified view by adjusting the binocular eyepieces closer together or further apart until you perceive a singular, focused image. With the dimmer wheel, set the bulb brightness to a comfortable level for prolonged exploration sessions, ensuring extended viewing comfort.
Embark on your exploration journey by starting with the lowest power objective lens, the 4X objective, centered over the stage for optimal initial examination. Bring your specimen into vivid focus by looking through the eyepieces and gradually turning the larger coarse adjustment focus knob, moving the stage closer to the objective to refine your view. Once your specimen is in view, switch to the blue fine adjustment focus knob to deftly fine-tune the image for clarity or explore the specimen's various layers. For ultimate clarity, utilize the diopter adjustment control on the eyepiece holder to fine-tune the image to absolute sharpness. Discover new angles of your specimen by manipulating the X-Y translational control knobs to navigate the slide holder once the specimen is in focus.
To elevate your magnification experience, gracefully rotate the nosepiece in a clockwise direction to transition to a higher objective level. Exercise caution to ensure the objectives do not come into contact with the slide, thereby preserving the pristine condition of both the slide and the objective lens. If you face any challenges while adjusting magnification, make use of the coarse focus knob to gently lower the stage. This creates ample space for you to switch objectives effortlessly, minimizing any risk of unnecessary contact.
Amplify your image resolution by fine-tuning the focusing ring on the iris aperture diaphragm. This adjustment allows you to achieve a sharper, more precisely defined visual output, enhancing your observational capabilities. Attain precise control over your lighting by manually adjusting the condenser's position relative to the stage using the rotating metal knob. This customization of illumination ensures it caters perfectly to your specific viewing needs.
For an unparalleled level of detail in your observations with the 100X objective, apply the provided immersion oil. This enhances resolution, bringing your discoveries into stunning sharp relief, revealing intricate details like never before. Carefully rotate the nosepiece to align the powerful 100X objective lens near your specimen slide. Take care not to let it touch the slide just yet, maintaining the integrity of your valuable specimen. Gently place a drop of the premium immersion oil provided onto the cover slip, setting the stage for an exceptional viewing experience with unmatched clarity. With precision, slowly rotate the 100X objective into its optimal position, allowing it to delicately interact with the immersion oil. This setup is primed for an unrivaled observation experience, offering extraordinary viewing potential. Adjust the focus smoothly and seamlessly until your specimen is vividly brought into view, showcasing its finest details with pristine clarity. (Note: After each use, ensure to gently clean the oil from the objective lens and cover slip using lens paper that is lightly moistened with ethyl or isopropyl alcohol. Remember that immersion oil should not be used with the 4X, 10X, or 40X objectives to preserve their functionality.)
The sophisticated swing-in and swing-out filter holder is strategically positioned at the base of the Abbe condenser, providing convenience and efficiency. Gently swing out the filter holder, and effortlessly place a pristine 32mm diameter filter into position. This safeguards the filter and the field lens from dust, dirt, or fingerprints that could tarnish their pristine condition.
Effortless Camera Attachment Procedure
To mount a camera, install the eyepiece adapter into the trinocular camera port at the top of the microscope. Then, skillfully affix your selected eyepiece camera (not included). For a C-mount camera (not included), simply unscrew the top ring from the eyepiece adapter and use it as a 1X C-mount, facilitating an easy and secure attachment.
The optimal parfocality between the eyepieces and the trinocular port is pre-calibrated to perfection. If adjustments are necessary, rotate the parfocal ring within the eyepiece adapter to fine-tune the adapter height, ensuring a seamless and accurate parfocal alignment.
