Assembly and set up
Begin by carefully extracting the microscope from its packaging and placing it on a stable, flat surface. Remove the plastic cover from the eyepiece holder atop the microscope's head, and set an eyepiece into the holder. Locate the power adapter, connect it to the microscope, and plug it in. Activate the microscope by pressing the power button.
Using the microscope
Switch on the microscope and opt for the lower lamp setting. Employ the illumination intensity control dimming handwheel to adjust the lamp to its lowest brightness setting, ensuring optimal comfort for your observations.
Secure a slide on the stage using the slide clips to ensure stability during examination.
Rotate the monocular head to a forward- or backward-facing position, selecting the most comfortable angle for viewing. Peer through the eyepiece and adjust the bulb brightness to your preferred intensity using the dimmer wheel for the best visual experience.
Commence your observation with the lowest magnification objective lens, the 4x, centered over the stage. Glance through the eyepiece and focus the image using the larger coarse adjustment focus knob, gently bringing the stage closer to the objective lens.
Once your image forms, refine it with the blue fine adjustment focus knob for superior clarity, enabling you to explore the intricate layers of your specimen. Manually maneuver the slide across the stage to examine different areas of the specimen slide.
Enhance magnification by rotating the nosepiece clockwise to select a higher magnification objective, carefully avoiding contact with the slide. If necessary, use the coarse focus knob to lower the stage and create sufficient space before increasing magnification.
*To utilize the microscope in incident mode, switch the illumination to the upper light embedded in the body. Place a solid specimen, such as hair or pollen, onto the stage with the objective lenses set to the lowest magnification. Follow the focusing steps to uncover magnified details with precision.
Caring for your microscope
Preserve your microscope's pristine condition by storing it in a cool, dry location. Employ the dust cover to shield the microscope when not in use. If cleansing is required, gently remove dust from the lenses using a soft brush or compressed air. Avoid direct contact with optical surfaces and refrain from disassembling optical components. When an eyepiece is not in use, protect the eyepiece holder and ocular lens with the plastic cover.
Troubleshooting
Should you encounter any issues, you might be able to resolve them yourself. Here are some common problems and straightforward solutions you can attempt before seeking assistance from customer support.
*Caution: Never disassemble the electrical, mechanical, or optical components. This servicing should only be done by a Swift technician.
