Assembly and set up
Embark on your discovery journey by gently unboxing the microscope and placing it on a stable, flat surface, ensuring a seamless setup. Unveil new perspectives by removing the protective plastic covers from the eyepiece holders on the microscope's head. Securely position the eyepieces into these holders, laying the groundwork for your observational pursuits. Broaden your viewing possibilities! Opt to insert the eyepiece adapter into the trinocular camera port on top of the microscope, enabling the addition of a third eyepiece or mounting an optional eyepiece camera. Power up your explorations by locating the power adapter, attaching it securely to the microscope, and plugging it in. Activate the microscope effortlessly with a simple press of the power button located at the base's rear.
Using the microscope
Illuminate your specimens by turning on the microscope and setting the lamp to its dimmest using the illumination intensity control wheel, preparing for precision viewing.
Securely position your specimen by clipping a slide into the holder on the stage, laying the foundation for detailed examination. Explore with precision using the X-Y translational control knobs on the stage's right side. Adjust the stage's front-to-back movement or slide holder's left-to-right motion to perfectly center your specimen over the light source.
Achieve visual unity by adjusting the binocular eyepieces closer or further apart until a single, focused image is perceived. Using the dimmer wheel, adjust the bulb brightness to a comfort level conducive for extended exploration sessions, ensuring enduring viewing ease.
Begin your exploration by starting with the lowest power objective lens, the 4X objective, centered over the stage for the ideal initial examination. Bring your specimen into sharp focus by peering through the eyepieces and gradually turning the larger coarse adjustment focus knob, moving the stage closer to the objective for refined clarity. Once your specimen is in view, transition to the blue fine adjustment focus knob. Use it to deftly fine-tune the image for precision or to explore the specimen's intricate layers. For ultimate sharpness, employ the diopter adjustment control on the eyepiece holder to refine the image to absolute clarity. Discover new specimen angles by manipulating the X-Y translational control knobs to navigate the slide holder once the specimen is in focus.
To enhance the magnification experience, gracefully rotate the nosepiece clockwise to ascend to a superior objective level. Handle with care to ensure that objectives do not make contact with the slide, thus preserving the pristine integrity of both the slide and the objective. If you encounter any obstacles while adjusting magnification, gently lower the stage using the coarse focus knob. This creates a generous amount of space to seamlessly switch objectives without risking any contact.
Elevate image resolution by finely tuning the focusing ring on the iris aperture diaphragm, which allows for a sharper and more precisely defined visual output, enhancing your viewing experience. Achieve exceptional lighting control by manually adjusting the condenser's proximity to the stage using the rotating metal knob. This customization of illumination perfectly caters to your specific observational needs.
For the most detailed observations with the 100X objective, apply the included immersion oil. This action enhances resolution, bringing your discoveries into sharp and vivid relief. Gently rotate the nosepiece to position the powerful 100X objective lens in close proximity to your specimen slide, ensuring it does not yet make contact with the slide. With utmost delicacy, place a drop of the provided high-quality immersion oil onto the cover slip, setting the stage for unparalleled viewing clarity. With precision, slowly rotate the 100X objective into its rightful position, allowing it to delicately contact the immersion oil, ready for unrivaled observation. Adjust the focus with seamless precision until your specimen is vividly and clearly brought into view, revealing its most intricate details. (Note: After each use, ensure to gently cleanse the oil from the objective lens and cover slip with lens paper lightly moistened with ethyl or isopropyl alcohol. Remember, immersion oil is unsuitable for the 4X, 10X, or 40X objectives.)
The sophisticated swing-in and swing-out filter holder is conveniently located at the base of the Abbe condenser, providing easy access. Gently swing it out and effortlessly place a pristine 32mm diameter filter into position. This ensures protection against dust, dirt, or fingerprints that could tarnish the filter or the field lens.
Effortless Camera Attachment Procedure
To mount a camera, place the eyepiece adapter into the trinocular camera port atop the microscope, and then affix your chosen eyepiece camera (not included). For a C-mount camera (not included), simply unscrew the top ring from the eyepiece adapter to utilize it as a 1X C-mount.
The perfect parfocality between the eyepieces and the trinocular port is pre-calibrated to perfection. If adjustments are necessary, rotate the parfocal ring within the eyepiece adapter to fine-tune the adapter height, ensuring seamless parfocality.
