I. Assembling the microscope
For optimal protection, each component of the S7 series microscopes is meticulously shipped in a detached state. Gently open the Styrofoam packaging, taking care that no parts remain affixed to the packing materials you're removing. Vigilance is key! Preserve all packing materials until you have identified and verified each component for complete assembly assurance.
Handle all components, particularly the optical lenses, with special care. Avoid contact with lens surfaces to maintain the pristine image clarity.
Ensure that the microscope is assembled on a stable, flat surface to maintain stability and precision during its use.
II. Using the microscope
Interpupillary adjustment
Adjust the eyepiece tubes until a seamless single circular field is visible through both eyepieces, offering a unified viewing experience. If two circles are visible, the interpupillary distance is excessive. Conversely, if overlapping circles are seen, the distance is insufficient, necessitating a precise adjustment. The eyepiece tube provides flexible interpupillary distance adjustments ranging from 54 to 76mm, catering to a diverse range of users.
Focusing the microscope
Use the dual side focusing knobs to bring your specimen into sharp focus. These knobs adjust the vertical movement of the microscope with a refined 'rack and pinion' system. Adjust the tension using the knob located within the right focusing knob for optimal precision.
Start with the highest magnification setting for initial focusing. Should the specimen remain unclear, adjust the microscope's height on the pole and secure it firmly with the locking screw and support collar.
