Assembly and set up
Begin your microscopy journey by carefully unboxing the SW150 Microscope and setting it on a sturdy, flat surface. Remove the protective plastic cover from the eyepiece holder located on the microscope's head. Next, gently fit an eyepiece into the holder. Locate the power adapter, connect it to the microscope, and plug it in. To activate the microscope, simply press the power button and prepare for exploration.
Using the microscope
Power on the microscope and select the lower lamp setting. Adjust the illumination intensity using the dimming handwheel, setting the brightness at the lowest level to ensure optimal viewing comfort and clarity.
Securely position a slide using the designated slide clips on the stage, ensuring a stable and accurate examination of your specimens.
Effortlessly rotate the monocular head to either a forward- or backward-facing position, optimizing comfort and ease of use for your viewing experience. Peer through the eyepiece, and adjust the bulb brightness to a comfortable illumination level using the dimmer wheel for precise observation.
Initiate your examination journey by centering the lowest magnification objective lens, the 4x objective, over the stage. Look through the eyepiece and carefully bring the image into focus by gently turning the larger coarse adjustment focus knob to adjust the stage's proximity to the objective lens.
Once a clear image is achieved, transition to the blue fine adjustment focus knob for meticulous clarity and to explore the various layers of your specimen. Manually move the slide across the stage to examine different parts of the specimen for an in-depth analysis.
Elevate your exploration by increasing magnification; rotate the nosepiece clockwise to shift to a higher magnification objective. Exercise caution to avoid contact between the objective and the slide. If needed, use the coarse focus knob to gently lower the stage, creating ample space before switching magnifications.
*For incident mode usage, adjust the illumination to the upper light integrated in the body. Position a solid specimen, such as hair or pollen, onto the stage while keeping the objective lenses on the lowest magnification. Repeat the focusing steps to observe the magnified details of your specimen.
Caring for your microscope
Maintain the impeccable quality of your SW150 Microscope by storing it in a cool, dry place. Protect it from dust with the provided dust cover when not in use. For lens cleaning, employ a soft brush or compressed air to delicately remove dust particles. Refrain from touching optical surfaces directly, and never disassemble optical components. When an eyepiece is not in use, safeguard the eyepiece holder and ocular lens with the plastic cover.
