Assembly and Setup
Begin your scientific journey by carefully unboxing the microscope and placing it on a stable, flat surface. Gently remove the protective plastic cover from the eyepiece holder located on the microscope's head, then securely insert an eyepiece into the holder. Connect the power adapter and plug it in. Power on the microscope with the button, revealing the breathtaking marvels of microscopy.
Using the Microscope
Switch on the microscope and select the lower lamp setting. Adjust the illumination with the intensity control dimming handwheel, reducing the lamp to the lowest brightness for an optimum and comfortable viewing experience.
Secure your slide onto the stage using the slide clips, setting the stage for an in-depth examination of your chosen specimen.
Gently rotate the monocular head to either the forward or backward-facing position for optimal viewing comfort. Peer through the eyepiece, adjusting the bulb brightness using the dimmer wheel for an unparalleled visual experience tailored to your specific needs.
Commence your observation with the lowest magnification objective lens, the 4x, centered over the stage. Look into the eyepiece and refine the image sharpness by turning the larger coarse adjustment focus knob, which precisely elevates the stage closer to the objective for a stunningly defined view.
Once the image is clear, shift your attention to the blue fine adjustment focus knob to enhance clarity or explore different specimen layers. Manually glide the slide across the stage to thoroughly investigate various sections of the specimen slide.
To increase magnification, delicately turn the nosepiece clockwise to select a higher magnification objective, being cautious to avoid slide contact. If necessary, use the coarse focus knob to lower the stage, creating ample space before changing magnification levels.
*For incident mode microscopy, switch the illumination to the upper light embedded in the microscope's body. Place a solid sample, like hair or pollen, on the stage with the objective lenses at the lowest magnification. Follow the focusing steps to uncover magnified details with precision and clarity.
Caring for Your Microscope
To ensure the longevity and peak performance of your precision instrument, it is crucial to store your microscope in a cool, dry place. Elevate its protection by using the included dust cover whenever the microscope is inactive. For cleaning, gently employ a soft brush or compressed air to remove dust from the lenses, avoiding direct contact with optical surfaces. Disassembling optical components is not recommended. Always secure the eyepiece holder and ocular lens with the provided plastic cover when not in use.
Troubleshooting
Should you experience any issues, you may find that a straightforward solution is within reach. We offer a guide to common challenges with user-friendly remedies to try before contacting our customer support team.
*Important Caution: Refrain from disassembling any electrical, mechanical, or optical components of the microscope. This should only be performed by a certified Swift technician to ensure safety and maintain optimal functionality.
