Assembly and set up
Begin your journey by gently removing the microscope from its box and placing it on a sturdy, flat surface, ready to unfold the mysteries of the microscopic universe. Prepare your microscope for action by removing the plastic covers from the eyepiece holders on its head and securely placing the eyepieces into the holders. For enhanced capabilities, consider inserting the eyepiece adapter into the trinocular camera port on top of the microscope. You can then either add a third eyepiece or mount an eyepiece camera (not included) for capturing stunning imagery. Find the power adapter and connect it to the microscope. Plug it in, and with the press of the power button located at the back of the base, bring your microscope to life.
Using the microscope
Ignite your exploration by turning on the microscope and using the illumination intensity control wheel to set the lamp to its lowest brightness setting, perfect for initial observations.
Securely position your slide into the holder on the stage, ready to reveal the secrets held within. Precisely adjust the position of your specimen using the X-Y translational control knobs on the right side of the stage, moving it front to back or left to right to perfectly center it over the bulb.
Achieve optimal viewing by adjusting the binocular eyepieces closer together or further apart until a single, crisp image appears through them. Set the ideal lighting by adjusting the bulb brightness to a comfortable intensity with the dimmer wheel, ensuring a perfect view.
Begin your exploration by starting with the lowest power objective lens, the 4X objective, centered over the stage, setting the foundation for detailed observation. Peer through the eyepieces and use the larger coarse adjustment focus knob to bring the stage closer to the objective, gradually bringing the image into sharp focus. Enhance clarity by switching to the blue fine adjustment focus knob, allowing you to flawlessly fine-tune the image or explore various specimen layers with precision. Refine your view even further by employing the diopter adjustment control on the eyepiece holder, achieving the clearest image possible. Navigate your slide with ease by using the X-Y translational control knobs to explore other parts of the slide once the specimen is in focus, ensuring comprehensive examination.
Elevate your observation by rotating the nosepiece clockwise to a higher magnification objective. Exercise caution to avoid contact between the slide and the objective, preserving both your specimen and your equipment. Should adjustment be necessary, use the coarse focus knob to move the stage down and away before changing magnification to safely create the space needed without risk of damage.
Enhance image resolution with precision by adjusting the focusing ring on the iris aperture diaphragm, customizing your view for the best possible clarity. Optimize your observations by manually moving the condenser closer to or farther from the stage using the metal knob, achieving the desired focus and lighting for each unique specimen.
To unlock the full power of the 100X objective, employ the included immersion oil, ensuring unparalleled clarity and detail in your high-magnification explorations. Gently rotate the nosepiece until the 100X objective lens is close to, but not directly touching, the specimen slide. Next, apply a drop of the specially included immersion oil onto the cover slip, ensuring even coverage. Carefully pivot the 100X objective into position so it immerses seamlessly in the oil, optimizing clarity. Fine-tune the focus until your specimen is sharp and vivid, coming to life under the lens. (Important Note: Immediately after your observation, it's crucial to delicately clean the oil from the objective lens and cover slip using lens paper moistened with a touch of ethyl or isopropyl alcohol. Remember, the 4X, 10X, or 40X objectives should not be used with immersion oil.)
Positioned at the base of the Abbe condenser, the innovative swing-in and swing-out filter holder awaits your command. Swing it open, carefully place a 32mm diameter filter within, and ensure it remains pristine, free from any dust, dirt, or fingerprints that could mar the filter or field lens.
Seamless camera attachment integration
Effortlessly insert the eyepiece adapter into the trinocular camera port atop the microscope. Securely mount an eyepiece camera (excluded) directly onto it. For a C-mount camera (not included), simply unscrew the top ring from the eyepiece adapter, enabling its use as a 1X C-mount for seamless camera integration.
The precise parfocality between the eyepieces and the trinocular port was finely calibrated before shipment, eliminating the need for adjustment. However, if necessary, you can rotate the parfocal ring within the eyepiece adapter to modify the adapter height position, ensuring impeccable parfocality.
