Using the microscope
Power on your microscope and select the lower lamp setting. Adjust the illumination intensity using the dimming handwheel, setting the brightness to a level that suits your viewing needs.
Place your specimen securely on the stage using the slide clips, ensuring stability during examination.
Adjust the monocular head to either a forward or backward-facing position, optimizing comfort for your viewing experience. Peer through the eyepiece and fine-tune the bulb brightness with the dimmer wheel to achieve your ideal intensity.
Commence your exploration with the lowest magnification objective lens, the 4x, centered over the stage. As you look through the eyepiece, gradually employ the larger coarse adjustment focus knob to bring the stage closer to the objective, achieving clarity in your initial observations.
Once you have a clear image, switch to the blue fine adjustment focus knob for precision refinement. Examine the various layers of your specimen, manually navigating the slide across the stage to explore different sections.
Elevate your exploration by rotating the nosepiece clockwise for higher magnification objectives. Ensure you maintain clearance to avoid striking the slide. If necessary, use the coarse focus knob to lower the stage, creating space before adjusting to higher magnification settings.
*For incident mode use, switch to the upper light integrated into the microscope body. Place a solid specimen (such as hair or pollen) on the stage with the lowest magnification objective. Follow the focusing steps to unveil intricate details in your specimen.
