I. Assembling the Microscope
The components of the S7 Series microscopes are carefully packaged and shipped detached for maximum protection. Gently open the Styrofoam packaging, ensuring that no components remain attached to the packing materials as they are removed. It's advisable to retain all packing materials until every single component is thoroughly identified and confirmed.
When handling components, particularly the optical lenses, avoid direct contact with the lens surfaces to prevent fingerprints and grease, which could diminish the image clarity.
Ensure that the assembly of the microscope is conducted on a flat, stable surface to maintain its stability during use.
II. Using the Microscope
Interpupillary Adjustment
Adjust the eyepiece tubes until a single circular field of view is achieved through both eyepieces for a seamless viewing experience. If two distinct circles appear, the interpupillary distance needs reduction; if overlapping circles are visible, increase the distance until a singular image is obtained. The eyepiece tube provides flexible adjustment of interpupillary distance, ranging from 54 to 76mm, catering to diverse user needs.
Focusing the Microscope
Use the dual side focusing knobs to bring the specimen into sharp focus. These precision knobs adjust the vertical movement of the microscope through a sophisticated 'rack and pinion' mechanism. Fine-tune the tension using the tension knob within the right focusing knob.
Start with the highest magnification setting for initial focus. If the specimen remains unclear, adjust the microscope's height on the pole. Secure the height with the locking screw and support collar for consistent performance.
