Gently unseal the Styrofoam packaging, vigilantly ensuring all components are detached from packing materials. Preserve all packaging elements until each component is meticulously identified and verified.
Handle all components with care, especially optical lenses. Avoid touching lens surfaces with bare hands as fingerprints and grease diminish image clarity.
Assemble the microscope on a stable, flat surface to maintain optimal stability during operation.
II. Using the microscope
Interpupillary adjustment
Adjust the eyepiece tubes to achieve a single circular field through both eyepieces, guaranteeing a seamless viewing experience. If you perceive two distinct circles, the interpupillary distance is too wide; if overlapping circles are seen, the distance is too narrow, necessitating further adjustment. The eyepiece tube is designed for adaptable interpupillary distance adjustment, ranging from 54 to 76mm, to accommodate various users.
Focusing the microscope
Utilize the dual side focusing knobs to hone in on the specimen. These knobs facilitate precise vertical movement using a sophisticated 'rack and pinion' system. Adjust tension with the tension knob located within the right focusing knob.
Begin with the highest magnification setting to establish focus. If clarity is lacking, adjust the microscope's height on the pole. Always secure the height using the locking screw and support collar to ensure stability.
