Assembly and Setup
Begin your journey by carefully extracting the microscope from its packaging and placing it securely on a stable, flat surface, ready for setup. Prepare the microscope by removing the protective plastic covers from the eyepiece holders on the head, then confidently place the eyepieces into their respective holders. Enhance your viewing options by inserting the eyepiece adapter into the trinocular camera port atop the microscope. Choose to add a third eyepiece or mount an eyepiece camera (not included) for expanded functionality. Locate the power adapter, connect it to the microscope, and plug it in. Activate the microscope by pressing the power button located on the back of the base, bringing it to life.
Using the microscope
Ignite your observations by turning on the microscope and adjusting the illumination intensity control wheel to set the lamp to its lowest brightness setting for initial viewing.
Secure your slide into place by clipping it into the slide holder on the stage, ensuring stability for precise examination. Utilize the X-Y translational control knobs on the stage's right side to maneuver the stage front to back or slide holder left to right, centering the specimen over the bulb for optimal illumination.
Achieve a unified image by adjusting the binocular eyepieces closer together or further apart until a single, clear image emerges through your gaze. Tailor the light to your comfort by adjusting the bulb brightness using the dimmer wheel, creating an ideal viewing environment.
Begin your exploration with the lowest power objective lens, the 4X objective, meticulously centered over the stage for an optimal starting point. Gaze through the eyepieces and gradually bring your specimen into focus by turning the larger coarse adjustment focus knob, drawing the stage closer to the objective with precision. Once clarity is achieved, switch to the blue fine adjustment focus knob to fine-tune the image, revealing the intricate layers of the specimen under examination. Further enhance image clarity using the diopter adjustment control on the eyepiece holder, refining your focus for unparalleled detail. Expand your exploration by adjusting the X-Y translational control knobs to navigate the slide holder once the specimen is in focus, allowing you to view additional slide areas.
Elevate your magnification by rotating the nosepiece clockwise to a higher magnification objective. Exercise caution to avoid contact with the slide, preventing potential damage to both the slide and objective. If slide contact is unavoidable when adjusting magnification, use the coarse focus knob to lower the stage, creating necessary clearance before proceeding with magnification changes.
Refine the image resolution by adjusting the focusing ring on the iris aperture diaphragm, tailoring the clarity to your specific needs. Manually adjust the condenser's proximity to the stage by rotating the metal knob, fine-tuning the lighting for enhanced specimen visibility.
For optimal results with the 100X objective, apply the included immersion oil, elevating your viewing experience to professional levels. To begin your exploration, smoothly rotate the nosepiece until the 100X objective is positioned close to, but not directly on, the specimen slide, ensuring precision in your observation. Next, expertly apply a drop of the included high-quality immersion oil onto the cover slip, preparing for enhanced clarity. Gently and slowly rotate the 100X objective into its precise position, allowing it to lightly contact the immersion oil for optimal viewing clarity. Meticulously adjust the focus until your specimen emerges with stunning clarity, bringing the microscopic world into crisp view. (Note: Immediately after use, always carefully remove the oil from the objective lens and cover slip using lens paper lightly moistened with ethyl or isopropyl alcohol. Important: Do not use immersion oil with the 4X, 10X, or 40X objectives for maintaining the equipment's longevity.)
Our innovative swing-in and swing-out filter holder is strategically located at the bottom of the advanced Abbe condenser, enhancing versatility. Simply swing out the holder and insert a 32mm diameter filter, ensuring it remains free from dust, dirt, and fingerprints for pristine optical performance.
Mounting a camera attachment offers a seamless way to capture your discoveries.
Insert the eyepiece adapter into the trinocular camera port at the microscope's top, and mount an eyepiece camera (not included) directly. For a C-mount camera (not included), simply unscrew the adapter's top ring for a 1X C-mount configuration.
Our microscopes have been meticulously calibrated for parfocality between eyepieces and the trinocular port before dispatch. Adjust if necessary by rotating the parfocal ring on the eyepiece adapter to fine-tune height position for optimal focus consistency.
