II. Using the microscope
Interpupillary adjustment
Adjust the eyepiece tubes until you see a single, seamless circular field through both eyepieces to ensure a cohesive and comfortable viewing experience. If two distinct circles are visible, it indicates an excessive interpupillary distance; if overlapping circles appear, it suggests the distance is insufficient and requires fine-tuning. The eyepiece tube offers adjustable interpupillary distance from 54 to 76mm, accommodating a range of users for optimal comfort.
Focusing the microscope
To achieve precision focus on the specimen, use the dual side focusing knobs. These knobs facilitate the vertical movement of the microscope with a meticulous 'rack and pinion' mechanism. Adjust tension using the tension knob within the right focusing knob for enhanced control.
Begin with the highest magnification setting to initially focus. If the image remains unclear, adjust the microscope's height on the pole. Always secure the height with the locking screw and support collar to maintain stability.
